While a student at Montreat College, Josh came to faith in Jesus Christ. After graduation the Lord called him into pastoral ministry. Besides churches in California, Illinois, and Prince Edward Island, Canada, Josh was also the organizing pastor of iSight Church (now Valley Hope) here in Black Mountain. Josh has been an ordained pastor in the EPC for 14 years. His roles included being a youth & family pastor, a church planter, and the lead/senior pastor. Josh is also a Lieutenant Chaplain in the US Navy Reserve. Josh’ chief joy is in discipleship and community building. He believes that ministry to the emerging generations is about presence and dialogue, co-journeying with people and stewarding their walks with Christ. Josh and his wife, Jessi, have two children: a son, Davis, and a daughter, Jo.
